John N. “Nick” Miller, PLS, FAA Remote Pilot – Principal Surveyor

Nick has been involved in land surveying since 2004, and with Red Barn Engineering since 2016. Nick has recently become certified in Drone Mapping Survey and has opened a new market at Red Barn Engineering Inc. to expedite data collection. He has held a Professional Land Surveyor license in the State of Washington since 2013. Nick attended Ripon College in Ripon, WI, graduating with a B.A. in economics and a minor in biology in 1994. He is also a 2005 graduate of the Field Surveying Principles program at Renton Technical College. Nick is a member of the Land Surveyor’s Association of Washington (LSAW).
Nick enjoys working on all aspects of land surveying including drone land surveying, but his skills are most suited to the technical aspects of survey. For example, he has been involved in AutoCAD installation and user support, as well as maintaining production equipment for peak efficiency. Another example is his ability to process and combine large data sets from multiple sources, originating on a variety of platforms. Nick also has extensive experience completing and delivering ALTA, topographic, condominium and land use surveys, within most of the jurisdictions around Western Washington.
